Administrator: About resources

Updated by Jennifer B.

Resources are individuals, teams, or companies who received an email invitation to participate in a project. Resources become team members when they accept the invitation.

An individual resource is a single person who can be assigned any of the following roles by a full instance administrator:

  • General collaborators: team members who can create projects for their companies and be added as team members on projects. Resources become general collaborators when they accept the invitation and become team members.
  • Video collaborators: team members who can perform video collaborations within projects.
  • Claims administrators: resources who can view projects within their company's instance. Claims administrators can assign company and individual resources.
  • Custom administrators: resources with the rights and permissions determined by full instance administrators. These can be resources who may not need access to all parts of the instances to which they are assigned.
  • Full instance administrators: resources who can add new resources, create custom administrator roles, and configure other instance-wide settings.

A team resource is a group of individuals that can be treated as a single team member. For example, a team can be assigned as a claim's primary contact, which would allow each member of the team to perform the duties of a primary contact.

A company resource is another company that you want to work with to restore a loss. You can add companies as resources, then claims administrators can add them as team members to projects. Resource companies need to provide you with their resource IDs before they can be added to your projects.
