Administrator: Generating API keys and client credentials

Updated by Jennifer B.

You will need to provide your development team with the information generated for you, so be sure to take note of your API key and client secret. To keep this information secure, your API key and client secret cannot be retrieved after you leave the page where they are generated and saved. If your key or client secret is lost or forgotten, you will need to generate a new one.
Generating new API keys or client credentials interrupts pre-existing ClaimXperience API services until your developers update their API calls. Only generate new API keys and credentials in close coordination with your company’s development team.
Generate new API key for Basic Auth
  1. In the Administration view of ClaimXperience, select API from your side navigation menu.
  1. Use the arrow to expand the Basic Auth area.
  1. Enter a username. This username is specific to the API and not necessarily specific to you.
  1. Select Generate API Key.
  2. Copy the API key so you can provide it and the username to your developers and prevent any interruption in service.
  1. Select Save.
Generate Client Credentials for OAuth 2.0

  • Client secret. This cannot be retrieved after you save it and navigate away from the API page.
  1. Select Save.
