How do I enable a task for Damage Assessment Automation (DAA)?

Updated by Jennifer B.

Tasks that can be submitted more than once cannot be enabled for Damage Assessment Automation (DAA) until the multiple submissions setting is disabled.
A task can only go through the automated damage assessment workflow if its submitted form includes line items.
  1. Click Custom Tasks in your Tasks menu.
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click the Enable this task for Damage Assessment Automation switch.
  4. Click Save.

You can also enable an option for updating, completing, and uploading a pre-existing estimate in Xactimate Online if

  • The ClaimXperience project or the task assignor is linked to XactAnalysis
  • An estimate with matching XactAnalysis ID (MFN) exists and is
    • Not locked or checked out
    • In progress
    • Free of existing line items
If any of the conditions are not met, an independent estimate will be generated.

To enable this option,

  1. Click Custom Tasks in your Tasks menu.
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click the Enable this task for Damage Assessment Automation toggle.
  4. Select the Update, complete, and upload the existing estimate in Xactimate Online checkbox.
  5. Select the Xactimate online user.
For automated tasks, the task assignor defaults to the primary contact. If the primary contact is a team, one of the team members will be assigned as the task assignor.
The Assigned XactAnalysis Adjuster option only applies to projects auto-created from XactAnalysis. This option only appears if an XactAnalysis data set ID has been added to your instance by an Xactware administrator. Also, the auto-create ClaimXperience project on assignment preference needs to be enabled within the corresponding data set on your XactAnalysis account.
  6. Click Save.
Upon task submission, the estimate is checked out, updated, completed, and uploaded.
